This is a pair of lovely, warm mittens in traditional Norwegian design featuring the Selbu rose. These knitted woollen mittens look as good during après ski as it does on the piste.
Norwegian woolens with a Selbu rose originate from the small municipality of Selbu in Norway. A Selbu rose is a knitted rose pattern in the shape of a regular octagram. It is a traditional pattern used for winter clothing. Perhaps the most typical garment is the Selbu mitten, selbuvott. It may also be used as a design on lusekofte (sweaters).
Our garments are all designed and handmade in our small workshop, not mass produced in a huge factory. This means that each item is unique. You are guaranteed an unique look, with no other person on the high street wearing the same item.
100% HAND KNITTED
Each item is hand knitted by a knitter with decades of experience. This will ensure that each garment is crafted to the highest quality possible. Experience the joy of wearing a treasured item that’s lovingly crafted.
Merino fibres are extremely fine, enabling them to bend far more than traditional, coarser wool fibres. This makes merino wool feel soft and luxuriously gentle next to your skin.
Merino fibres can absorb large quantities of moisture vapour and then move it away to evaporate into the air. Knitwear made of merino wool is extremely breathable and less prone to clamminess.
In contrast to synthetics, merino is an active fibre that reacts to changes in body temperature. It will reliably keep you warm when the weather is cold.
Merino wool is exceptionally durable. This means that you can enjoy your garment not just for one season, but for many years to come.
Colours and patterns may vary slightly due to the handmade nature of this product.
Please hand-wash carefully and lay out flat for drying.
