We offer a range of beginners knitting classes for all you crafty wannabes out there. Whether it's just something you've always wanted to learn, a novel hen do activity or simply a chance to try something different, a Grannies, Inc. knitting class is the perfect place to learn, socialise and get inspired about the craft of hand-knitting.

All of our knitting classes are taught by our founder, Katie Mowat, author of the wonderful Grannies, Inc. Guide to Knitting book.

Get Your Knit On - an introduction to knitting (1 x 1.5 hours)

If you've always wanted to give knitting a go but don't know your knits from your purls then this is the class for you. We'll teach you the basics of knitting, casting on, casting off and introduce you to 2 common knitting stitches. You'll go away from this class with the ability to knit yourself a basic scarf. An inexpensive way to give knitting a go and see if you like it.

WHAT WE PROVIDE: 1.5 hours of tuition, lending you all the materials you will need to get started.

PRICE: £15;

LOCATION: Brixton, London or a location of your choice*

Commit to the Knit - a beginners knitting course (3 x 2 hours)

If you're committed to learning the basics of knitting then why not try our 'Commit to the Knit' beginners knitting course? This is a series of 3 classes...

Class 1: You will learn the basics of knitting, casting on, casting off and 2 common knitting stitches.

Class 2: We will teach you another 2 stitches, how to read a pattern, tensions and decide on your final class project.

Class 3: You will work on a project of your choice (hat, snood, cushion cover or other options available) practising the techniques and stitches learned in the previous 2 classes. We'll give you all the advice you need to complete the project in your own time and will be available at the end of the phone should you need any further help after the course.

WHAT WE PROVIDE: 3 x 2 hours lessons, 1 set of knitting needles, 1 cable needle, 1 yarn needle, 100% merino wool yarn in a colour of your choice for whichever project you choose, tea and cake.

PRICE: £80;

LOCATION: Brixton, London or a location of your choice*

DATE: Wednesday, 6.30-8.30pm, start dates will vary according to demand.
