Due to other commitments our pioneering founder, Katie Mowat, is unable to continue working full time on Grannies, Inc. and is looking for someone very special to take it over, help grow it and make it their own. Could that be you? Below is further information about the company and the offering:

Who We Are

Grannies, Inc. is a social start-up offering bespoke knitwear handmade by grannies in the UK. Customers have the opportunity to design their own knitwear accessories or choose from the varied number of products sold in our MarketPlace. Launched in 2009, Grannies Inc has seen great success, attracted considerable attention from the media and developed a loyal and strong customer base. The company is based in Brixton, South London but operates online, throughout the UK and abroad.

What We Are Looking For

We are currently looking for a new owner to lead the company and take it forward. This opportunity would be ideal for a entrepreneurial person who perhaps has an interest in crafts and wants the flexibility of running their own business perhaps wanting to work from home. Grannies, Inc. is a wonderful company, solving a real social problem and has huge potential for growth within and outside the UK. The concept of the company can very easily be adapted to the new managing director's vision.

How It Will Work

The new director will take a majority stake in the business with the founding director remaining on board as an advisor and mentor. The new director will be in full control of the company, running it how they choose to make it their own. The candidate should see it as a new business startup to be built from the ground up (albeit from a running start). They may want to seek investment or business grants to aid growth and should be prepared for a salary based on profits. The role can be full or part time, is flexible enough to allow for the candidate to fund themselves with a paid part time job while starting out, however the success will inevitably be based on the amount of effort put in.
